Beering Scholar Student Association

The Beering Scholar Student Association (BSSA) is an organization connecting recipients of the Beering Scholarship with fellow Scholars, alumni, and Purdue faculty. They organize professional and leadership development opportunities, such as an annual Alumni Panel during Homecoming, a fall leadership retreat, and mentoring programs with Purdue faculty. They also provide opportunities for Scholars to serve their communities by volunteering at events like Purdue's Space Day or for organizations like Habitat for Humanity. Finally, they foster relationships among current Beering Scholars by organizing a Beering Buddy program, where new Scholars are paired with older Scholars, and social events.
