ABOUT US

What is the Beering Scholarship?
To be both brief and honest, a scholarship opportunity unlike any other. Created by Dr. Steven C Beering, the ninth President of Purdue University and former dean of the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM), the Beering Scholarship affords its recipients an opportunity for an education at a world-class institute without financial burden. Beering Scholars represent a diverse array of majors, from Electrical Engineering to Environmental Science to Economics. They hail from all parts of the country, from sunny California to right here in West Lafayette, Indiana. However, they are all connected by their academic potential, their commitment to leadership, and their passion for serving their communities through their unique interests and talents. To Scholars, the Beering Scholarship is not just a monetary gift - it is also an opportunity to engage in a vibrant community of Scholars committed to leadership, service, and academic excellence.
